Pengguna Google+ Tak Betah Berlama-lama

Menarik sejumlah besar pengguna dalam waktu terbilang singkat saja tidak cukup bagi Google+. Jejaring sosial besutan Google ini sepertinya masih harus bekerja keras membuat para penggunanya betah berlama-lama berjejaring sosial di sana.

Sebuah studi yang dilakukan firma riset ComScore menyebutkan, Google+ tidak memiliki cukup daya tarik yang membuat pengguna sering-sering mengunjunginya, jika dibandingkan dengan Twitter, Facebook, bahkan Myspace..

Data yang dirilis ComScore Januari silam memperlihatkan, rata-rata pengguna Google+ menghabiskan waktu hanya 3,3 menit mengunjungi situs tersebut. Di Facebook, rata-rata pengguna menghabiskan waktu enam hingga tujuh jam.

ComeScore juga menyebutkan waktu kunjungan ke Google+ lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan jejaring sosial seperti Twitter dan Myscape. Jejaring sosial musik Myspace yang memiliki 27 juta pengguna, lebih sedikit dari Google+, rata-rata pengunjungnya bahkan menghabiskan waktu tiga kali lebih banyak ketimbang pengunjung Google+.

Laporan yang dilansir IT Business, Rabu (29/2/2012), ini juga memperlihatkan rata-rata waktu yang dihabiskan pengguna Google+ turun dari 5,1 menit pada Desember 2011 menjadi 4,8 menit di bulan berikutnya. Dan data terbaru Januari silam, angkanya merosot lagi menjadi 3,3 menit.

Pada awal kemunculannya Juni 2011, Google+ langsung menyedot perhatian publik. Akhir tahun lalu, CEO Google Larry Page menyebutkan jejaring sosial mereka memiliki 90 juta pengguna dan masih terus bertambah. Tentunya ini sebuah pencapaian hebat bagi situs baru.

Menanggapi laporan ComScore, juru bicara Google mengatakan kenyataannya adalah Google+ lebih dari sekedar situs kunjungan. Hal ini menurutnya menyulitkan firma riset pihak ketiga memonitor atau mengukur performanya.

“Google berpikir tentang layanan bukan sebagai sebuah situs melainkan sebagai tempat mempererat hubungan bagi miliaran pengguna yang telah ada, yang telah bergabung di berbagai layanan Google seperti Search, YouTube, Android dan banyak lagi. Jika menggunakan ukuran ini, kedalaman hubungan sudah sangat besar,” tandas juru bicara Google.

When using this measure, the depth of the relationship has been very great,” Google spokesman said.
